A total of 19 bands and 17 solo artists took to stage on Tuesday at State Academy hall, Kohima at the one day Kohima leg, the Nagaland Music Safari, organized by Music Task Force (MTF), Directorate of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland, with Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) as event partner.
The Kohima show was managed by re-known event management group XL.
Earlier G. Chishi, project director, MTF gave the introduction with words of encouragement to the musicians.
Judges for the contest included XTC band members - Moanungsang (vocals), Sosang (guitar-1), Atsaba Rothrong (guitar-2), Akum Jamir (bassist), Moayanger (keyboards), Yangkum (drums) and Atsung Jamir (manager /sound engineer).
Winners in the districts will vie for the crowns at the culminating State Level competitions on October 30 at Kohima. The competitive categories include solo vocal and band, with cash incentives and musical instruments as prizes for the winners.
