German cycle team to visit Nagaland

Karmariders – a cycling team of young Germans carrying the message of solidarity, friendship, self-reliance and adventure will reach the state on November 27 and attend the Hornbill festival before proceeding to Manipur. The team has cycled 2500 km in all the 16 states of Germany and their next objective is to cycle another 2500 km across five northeastern states in India including Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur. During their tour, the team will interact with the urban and rural people, both young and old alike. A handout said the cycling youths wanted to savour the captivating natural beauty and experience the rich cultural heritage of the region. It also said they wanted to project the image of the Northeast India back to their fans and sponsors in Germany. The Don Bosco Organisation in the Northeast will oversee the arrangements for the expedition in India. The team has appealed to the people for their valuable support and guidance in its venture to forge friendships and alliances and inspire the youths to set their goals high with determination and perseverance to achieve it.
