Aisle band, a four member gospel band, will represent Wokha in the grand finale of the Nagaland Music Safari 2008, organized by Music Task Force (YRS), to be held in Kohima on the 30th of Oct. 2008. The Band consisting of Nongothung Shitiri, vocal, Mhademo, Guitar, Mhathung Ngullie, Bass and Ponathung Patton, drums not only reigned as the district winner of the band category, but also clean swept the individual categories during the District level competition at Wokha.
Nagaland Music Safari 2008 at Wokha, was organized by Music Task Force (YRS) and managed by Khyingromongo Kholok.
Altogether 8 bands and 15 soloists participated in the district level competition. Nonghothung Shitiri, Z William Kikon and Mademo reigned in the Solo category to be the first, second and the third respectively. K3M and Exorcise bands were placed second and third respectively in the band category. It may be noted that, Aisle band have performed in some parts of India, Bhutan and Nepal and have released an original album, ‘AISLE’.
The winners of the solo competition received Rs. 7000/- + Cort Acoustic Guitar, Rs.5000/- and Rs.3000/- respectively, which were given away by O Athel Lotha ADC Wokha. Winners of the Band category received Rs, 15000/- + Phonic Road Gear 260 Plus, Rs. 10000/- and Rs. 7000/-. Motsuthung Tsanglao, Member, WTC and Phyochamo Ngullie, Member, WTC gave away the prizes for the band categories. Earlier, Agape Youth Welfare Society presented a special song on behalf of NSACS Wokha and Classical Music Display by Nyanbemo Lotha.
Meanwhile, Khyingromongo Kholok the event managers would like to thank the Music Task Force (YRS) Nagaland for creating avenue for young talents of the district through the event, Libemo Jami YRSO, Wokha, 41 Assam Rifles, DEF Wokha and all individual and groups who rendered theis help and support toward the success of the event.
