Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has notified the whole sale dealers (perishable items) within the municipality that introduction of open tender system to the interested business communities has been done with the intention of controlling exorbitant rise of prices and business monopoly by some vested individual at Kohima.
A release issued by the chairperson Vipopal Kintso said the agreement between KMC and whole sale dealer has been signed with the latter having read and pledged to abide with all 15 terms and conditions as laid in the agreement and that KMC office is to act upon the terms and execute accordingly without discrimination.
The chairperson further stated under agreement number 15, failure to comply with the clauses laid by the grantee, the grantor reserves the right to forfeit the security deposit and cancel permit/ dealership of the grantee without prior information.
The KMC has further appreciated the public and business communities for the positive response towards the eviction carried out at KMC markets and slaughter houses committee along with market inspectors on footpath vendors on October 20.
