Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) and Nagaland Police Service Association (NPSA) have supported the demand of the Nagaland Civil Service Association (NCSA) for encadrement to one post of principal secretary and two posts commissioner & secretary. NPCC vice president Nillo Rengma in a press release said the demand of NCSA was genuine considering the fact that Nagaland Civil Service being the premier service in the state. “When we look at other states like West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, UP etc, state civil service cadres are given more importance and their services are encadred upto the post of principal secretary,” NPCC said. The State Congress also said NCS officers have vast experience in the art of governance since they are the ones who serve at the grass root level and in most difficult areas. “And wherever there is trouble or disturbance in the districts or sub-divisions, NCS officers are immediately posted there to maintain law and order situation, and they do better tan other services,” NPCC maintained. In light of the merit of the case, NPCC urged the State government to consider and fulfill the “genuine demand of NCSA.” In a separate press release, NPSA president Neiba Newmai pointed out that the two services (NPSA and NCSA) had been serving the State and the people with dedication even under difficult circumstances. NPSA also requested the State government to address the demand of NCSA at the earliest.
