ICFAI varsity freshers meet

Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) University Nagaland held its fresher's day on Friday at 10 a.m with Senti Ao, Deputy Secretary Higher Education Kohima as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed on the fact that freshers are the most fortunate people among many others, who do not get such opportunities to study at corporate business school. He also highlighted on the university and the centers especially in northeast such as Meghalaya, Sikkim, Mizoram.Tripura, Nagaland and touched on the fact that the state government of Nagaland specially the higher education department has put in a lot of effort in recognizing the university through an act passed in Nagaland Legislative Assembly act and assured the students that the degree they obtained was valid and recognized and was fit to be incorporated anywhere in the world. The Chief Guest advised that one has to study hard and should be well equipped to able to have wide scope and also to focus on national and international level. Earlier principal Dr. C.P Alexander Centre Head while addressing the students on the glimpse of the university said, the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) was originally established in Hyderabad in the year 1984 with several constituents such as business schools, school of finance, school of education, tech, school of law and university and has about 50 campuses all over India with remarkable placement services. The Nagaland branch was started last year with 6 BBA students and the total enrollment had gone up to 74 students in three streams like MBA, BBA and BCA with finest computer lab, excellent library with over 5000 books and 37 journals. Highlights of the programme included invocation from Asen, welcome song by BBA 3rd sem, and welcome speech by the old timers, freshers special number, song by Tokam and friends and elocution competition.
