Selection test for girls’ football Dimapur, Nov 4 (NPN): The department of Youth Resources and Sports will conduct the second phase of selection test for admission of girls’ football into sports training centre at Indira Gandhi Stadium for the session 2009 starting from December 10 to 11 at 10 am. According to director Bei U Angami, admission will be considered in two categories 12 to 14 years and under 17 years as on January 1, 2009 and admission form can be obtained from the department of YRS on any working day on payment of Rs.50. The last date of submission of form is December 8. In this, regard interested candidates are directed to report in the hockey ground at Indira Gandhi Stadium complex 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled time with proper sports kits. The selected players will be provided free lodging, fooding and sports materials by the government and no TA/DA will be provided, the release added. MDFA selects players Dimapur, Nov 4 (NPN): Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) has selected 51 players at the ongoing MDFA trophy 2008, and the selected players will be short listed on November 10, for coaching which will begin from November 16 onwards. According to president MDFA, N. Bendang Jamir some players are selected even though they could not participate in this year edition but are registered under MDFA. Those selected players will represent the District during 2008 and 2009 session. Half marathon at Mkg Dimapur, Nov 4 (NPN): Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung Bendangkokba has informed that the Half Marathon Race (20 Kms) under capacity building organized by Government of Nagaland will be held at Mokokchung town on November 8. The Race course will be from Sports Hall at 6 a.m. to Zunheboto - Ao setsu police check gate along the NH. No.61 and return to the same place (Sports Hall). In this regard the DC has banned the vehicular movement on November 8 from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. on the said road. Meanwhile, in connection of the half marathon race scheduled to be held on November 7 at Dimapur, secretary technical committee, Dimapur has informed the competitors to report on November 6 at State Sports Hostel, near Government College Dimapur at 10 am for medical check up-cum-handover and taking of chest number.
