New Nuance Assamese software for mobile users

Nuance Communications, a leading supplier of speech solutions has now made available version 7.4 Text Input software in Assamese, a language spoken by millions of people in North East India. With this latest addition, Nuance's T9 Text Input software helps mobile users quickly write in 75 global languages. According to a press note, a demo and early release of the new enhanced version of T9 Text Input software for Assamese is available for licensing to consumer electronics, office automation, and landline and mobile communications device manufacturers in various fields, including government services, banking, gaming, healthcare and education. This new version of Nuance's T9 Text Input software in the mobile communications field will enable Assamese-speaking users to quickly send SMS text messages in their native language to family, friends and co-workers, making it easier for speakers throughout India and in other countries to communicate more effectively. "This launch of Assamese as our 75th T9 Language highlights our commitment for Emerging Markets requirements, as India's mobile market now has nearly 300 million subscribers and 9 million net mobile users add per month. We have now over ten Indic languages, plus English," said Ray Tsuchiyama, Head of Emerging Markets, Tegic Business Unit, Mobile and Consumer Services Division, Nuance.
