GPRN/NSCN Yimchunger region clarifies on killing

NSCN/GPRN Yimchunger region has clarified the news item which appeared on October 31 under the caption ‘Metonger village demand reason for killing’. According to chairman of Yimchunger region captain retd Aso Yim, the incident was not intentional and there was “no grudge between us”. Clarifying the statement the chairman in a press release said on the fateful day “it was learnt that Rezoupeyu Yamukam of Tisary region was carrying M21 and the trigger was loaded (as we came to know later) and Yamong was showing how to open the safe, at that time misfire took place and unfortunately Alinvi was killed”. The chairman in this connection has requested Metonger Village Council “not to drag the matter any deeper” adding that GPRN NSCN would solve the matter in “best possible way” and the government would also take its own course of action “wherever and whenever necessary”. The release further added that resolution number seven of Metonger village should not be used. It also clarified that the incident took place at Kiphire and not in Tuensang and the deceased was not ‘Tikhir’ and ‘Yimchunger’. GPRN/NSCN further requested all organization to understand and cooperate for peaceful solution in the society.
