State BJP meet DIMAPUR: State BJP executive meeting would be held November 21, 10 a.m. at BJP state office, apartment No. OC-3, Naga shopping arcade, Dimapur. State BJP general secretary (admn), T L Merry in a release has requested all BJP legislators, former presidents of state BJP, state executive members, BJP district presidents and general secretaries, chiefs of Morchas and cells to attend the meeting. It has also invited all the BJP candidates who contested the last NLA to the meeting. NCVYS informs DIMAPUR: New Chumukedima Village Youth Society (NCVYS) has informed all picnic "party or groups" to take prior permission from NCVYS for any type of gathering under its jurisdiction. The society in a press note has also informed that any kind of outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, breaking of bottles, playing with crackers was strictly prohibited and that violators would be strictly dealt with by the society. YABC Golden Jubilee DIMAPUR: Y. Aünrü Baptist Church (YABC) golden jubilee would be celebrated from December 12 to 14. KVC informs DIMAPUR: Koio Village Council (KVC) has informed that as per Koio resolution, Retso GB, Kantsurao GB, Khontsemo GB, Nchumbemo GB, Nrikhomo (N) VCM, K.Chicamo VCM, C.Yanbamo VCM, Rhyuzamo VCM, C.Thungbemo VCM, Yankhomo VCM and Khocherao GB, VCC have been terminated from their respective post for "misconduct". A press release issued by head GB, Ekhow Ngullie and Secretary Nrikhon Patton, stated "anyone who has been removed from the post should keep quite"; adding village council would not be responsible for any action in the near future. DDBPOA informs DIMAPUR: Dimapur District Beauty Parlour Owner's Association (DDBPOA) has informed all the owners of beauty parlour, barbers and salons under Dimapur district to renew their registration for current year and also those who have not yet registered to register on or before November 30 at DDBPOA office, C/o Labo Udyog, MP Road (near Rajasthan Fort), Dimapur. Further, it has cautioned that action would be taken against the defaulters while has also informed to contact 9862255429 and 9862568229 for additional information. Power department notifies DIMAPUR: Department of power, Dimapur has notified general public not to put up any advertisement hoardings in the electrical pole without prior information from the department. The department in a release said non compliance of the order would invite stringent punishment and a penalty as per Indian Electricity Act. Formation of SCFZ DIMAPUR: Senior Citizens Forum Zunheboto (SCFZ) district was formally inaugurated by state chief minister Neiphiu Rio November 14 at government higher secondary school, Zunheboto. According to a press release issued by forum general secretary, Izhekhu Achumi, the chief minister donated Rs. 1 lakh towards the forum for disbursement to old persons present at the inauguration function. Poilwa youth bans KOHIMA: Poilwa Youth Organization and the Poilwa Students Union Nagaland has banned hunting, fishing, and burning of forest within the jurisdiction of Poilwa village. A joint release issued by the PSUN and PYON has cautioned that defaulters would be panelized according to rules and resolution laid by two unions. Silver jubilee celebration DIMAPUR: Ao Students' Union Tuensang (ASUT) would be celebrating its silver jubilee December 6, 10 a.m. at Government Higher Secondary School auditorium with EE irrigation and flood control, Tuensang, Er. Lanu as chief guest. Jubilee planning committee convener, Takukumba Jamir in a release has requested all the alumni, former office bearers, friends and well wishers to attend the event. Dmu youth festival DIMAPUR: Dimapur district would organize Youth Festival on November 21 organized by department of youth resources and sports. In this regard, the department would organize various competitions like folk dance, folk songs, guitar recital and elocutions.Interested person or groups have been invited to collect form and guideline at the State Girls' Hostel, Half Nagarjan, Dimapur. According to an official bulletin, winners in various competitions would represent the district during the inter-district competition to be held at Kohima from December 15 to 17 2008. RSUB new office bearers DIMAPUR: Rengma Student Union Bangalore (RSUB) has elected a new team of office bearers for the first time on November 15 with Shahilo Tep as president, Hentile Magh as secretary, Methalo Magh as finance secretary, Caleb Kent as representative to N. S. U. B, Joshua Keppen as information & publicity secretary and Jonathan Magh, Mercy Kath as advisors. Meanwhile, the union would be celebrating Ngada (Rengma Festival) on November 30 at Hebbal Park, Bangalore. CVC lauds DAN govt DIMAPUR: Changlang Village Council (CVC) has lauded DAN government for inaugurating Angjangyang SDO (civil) headquarters on November 12. Village council chairman, in a release has expressed gratitude to all the government officers, NGO's and villages of Phom area and neighboring villages of Yangching, Orangkong, Longleng, Mongyu, Pungo, Longchang and Hongkhong range for their cooperation. Further, council has expressed hope that they would look forward to DAN government for more developments. DIPR condoles DIMAPUR: Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Nagaland has condoled the demise of one of its retired officer L.R. Murry at Dimapur on November 16. Department officials have recalled that late L.R. Murry, who retired as DPRO, Wokha in November 1986 was an active and dedicated officer. The department officials have conveyed sorrow to the family members of late L.R. Murry and prayed Almighty grant solace and comfort to the loved ones of the departed soul.
