Art and Culture deptt informs
DIMAPUR: Department of Art and Culture has informed all candidates for animation and entertainment industry, that those interviewed on October 22 by the Koreans and those who could not turn up on that day have been informed another round of interview/ interaction would be held in November.
A release issued by the director informed all candidates of both categories to be prepared for another round of interaction for consideration. Details of date and venue will be announced later, the release said.
DIMAPUR: Little Star Higher Secondary School (LSHSS) Dimapur silver jubilee celebration will be held on November 8-9 at 10 am at the school campus under the theme 'excellence through grace'. Dr Shurhozelie, minister of urban development and higher education will be the chief guest.
KYO elects new team
KOHIMA: Kitsubozou Youth Society (KYS) has elected a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2008-10.
The new team would be led by Keyhosel Rhütso as president; Neivizo C. as vice president; Aziebu Theyo as general secretary; Vizokholie Souhu as the treasurer and Sarhunyi Shupao as finance secretary.
Stating this in a release, KYS general secretary, Aziebu Theyo further informed that Kitsubozou youth day would be celebrated November 1, 11 a.m. at Panchayat hall.
BSI ‘talent expo’
DIMAPUR: Bible Society of India Dimapur Auxiliary Youth Committee is organizing 'Talent Expo on 60 Seconds for Jesus' on December 7, at Covenant Hall CHSS, Dimapur for the promotional work of Bible ministry and to create a platform for the youths to exhibit their talent and gift of God. All church/ institution/ individual are requested to participate in the competition. Prizes will be: first prize - Rs.5000/-, second prize - Rs.3000/- and third prize - Rs.1000/-. LBCA clarifies VBC golden jubilee
DIMAPUR: Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA) in a rejoinder has clarified the news item of VBC golden jubilee celebration slated from November 1-2 issued by Dr. N. Y. Mozhui as "false" since it has ‘not been recognized’ by the Lotha Baptist Churches Association.
A joint rejoinder issued by reverend MC Kithan president and executive secretary reverend Dr E Nrio Ezung stated Rev. M.Tsanglao, finance secretary and Rev. M. C. Kithan, president of the Lotha Baptist Churches Association who are also included in the programme without their consent will not participate in the celebration. The association also appealed to all the general public not to be confused.
DIMAPUR: United Colony Council Dimapur (UCCD) will conduct a cleanliness drive on November 1 from 6am to 9 am within its jurisdiction (Ward 20). All business establishments will remain closed during the mass social work. Council secretary said GBs and council members are responsible for cleanliness of respective sectors. All have been requested to co-operate and join the social work.
DIMAPUR: Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC) has informed all heads of departments/ shop owners to white wash respective offices and buildings in lieu of the upcoming Ahuna festival (cross cultural feast). ZTC chairperson has requested all to execute the drive on or before November 5 for the success of the programme.
DIMAPUR: Liangmai Community, Kohima will hold the annual Chega Gadi festival on October 31 at Heritage Old D.C Bungalow. T.R. Zeliang, Minister Coordination Vety, AH, Evaluation and Parliamentary Affairs will be the chief guest.
KOHIMA: Western Angami Students' Union (WASU) would conduct a "goodwill tour" to all schools under its jurisdiction on October 31. During the tour, the union would interact with the school authority or the managing board.
DIMAPUR: Aghunaqa Area Students' Union (AASU) emergency meeting has been convened on November 1 at its sub-banker’s residence, Nepali Basti, Dimapur. All office bearers and local unit representatives have been requested to attend the meeting.
1 day workshop
DIMAPUR: LFA-UNAIDS Nagaland in collaboration with PLHA Network, Nagaland at Dimapur will organize one day workshop at Tourist Lodge on October 30 from 10 am to 3 pm. The meeting would focus role of PLHA and GIPA, reduction of stigma & discrimination and the response of government.

DIMAPUR: ATI, Kohima with support from NHRC will organize two human rights trainings for uniformed personnel like police, prison, excise, forest including district administration from November 3 to 4 and for non-uniformed personnel: government officers, NGOs, CSOs, media etc from November 10 to 11. All concerned are requested to send nominations/ representatives. Renowned resource persons from outside the State shall conduct the courses.
