A total of 11 bands and 22 solo artists will take part in the Nagaland Music Safari 2008 grand finale on Thursday at State Academy hall, Kohima starting 1pm.
All the Bands and solo artists are to register at the Academy hall reception at 10am, collect their TA&DA, and to confirm their participation by 1pm.
The competition is being organized Music Task Force (MTF), Directorate of Youth Resources & Sports, and Nagaland, with Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) as event partner.
The final show is managed by renowned event management group XL.
The show has provided platform to 611 musicians. So far 178 solo artists and 106 bands have participated in the Music Safari held in all the districts of Nagaland. Altogether there are 71 finalists.
In the final round, the 1st & 2nd place winners in the band category will participate in the upcoming Hornbill National Rock Contest to be held during the Hornbill festival in the first week of December. The winning musicians will also be featured in the state inauguration day along with the achievers.
The bands that would be taking part in the final round are Diatribe (Kohima), Dementia (Dimapur), Slangers (Mokokchung), Aisle (Wokha), Felicity (Peren), The System (Kiphire) Instinct (Phek), The Eugenics (Zunheboto), Mylonite (Tuensang), P. Brunch (Longleng) and RASP (Mon).
While the finalists in the solo category are Kimneihoi and Narsen (Kohima), Meribeni Patton and Nungshitola (Dimapur), Moanukshi and Wapong Ozukum (Mokokchung), Z. William Kikon and Nongothung (Wokha), Peheuyile and Esther Dailiam (Peren), Tsolen and Leochun (Kiphire), Rato Chizo and Vesato Rhakho (Phek), Akavi Yeptho and Topeni K Assumi (Zunheboto), David Ben and L. Aroba (Tuensang), Manshak and C. Bakup Noklang (Longleng) and Atieh and Jatom (Mon).
