The serial blasts in Assam claimed the life of a Naga student who died in the blast at Pan Bazaar, Guwahati, on Thursday. The Naga student was identified as Pitolu Yepthomi, son of Tohoshe Yepthomi of Viyixe village under Zunheboto district, and a B.Com final student of RG Baruah College, Guwahati. According to sources, Pitolu and one of his friends from Meghalaya were on their way back to their hostel - Lewis Memorial Hostel - when the blast occurred, killing both of them on the spot. According to a late night report, the body of late Pitolu arrived Dimapur in an ambulance Friday around 11 p.m. A short service was held at Christian Higher Secondary School before the mortal remains of late Pitolu was being taken to his native village. Meanwhile, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) and All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) have, in separate messages, condoled the death of Pitolu. NPCC condemns NPCC has condemned Thursday’s serial bomb blasts in Assam and said no crime against humanity was as grievous as that of Assam blasts where the “savage perpetrators” randomly triggered bombs causing large number of deaths and injuring hundreds of innocent people. “In this agonizing and confusing situation the NPCC strongly feel that this despicable and terrible incident has thrown a challenge to the sensible people and all the political parties to stand above party politics and unitedly join hands to root out terrorist activities in all its forms,” said NPCC president KV Pusa in a press release.
