MDFA trophy 2008: Youngster, MMSC in last eight

Youngster Club and Moanungsang Memorial Sporting Club (MMSC) booked their quarterfinals berth in the ongoing MDFA Trophy played here, Saturday. Youngster Club trounced Medemchanger 4-1, in the first encounter. Though Medemchanger drew first blood in the 9th minute through Aokumer strike, it was the Youngster Club who proved their mettle in the game and emerged victorious. Youngster stormed back into the game when Noksangyanger leveled the score line in the 23rd minute. The score line was 1-1, till half time. Right after four minute from the lemon break, the skipper of Youngster Temjenmeren added another to make it 2-1. Medemchanger campaign was finally over when Nokchashilu added two more goals in the 61st and 89th minutes. In the second match defending champions MMSC overcame Exodus 2-1. Both teams remain goalless till the half time. Chubasunep opened the scoring for MMSC when his superb header found the net in the 59th minute. After four minute MMSC’s skipper Rongsenchiba increased the lead to 2-0. However, the Imsu pulled back one for Exodus in the 72nd minute but that was not enough as the final score went in favor of MMSC.
