2 killed in bus mishap

Two persons were killed and seventeen others injured when the bus they were traveling in, rolled down some 125 feet below the road on NH-39 near KMC dumping area, around 15 kms from Kohima town, Monday around 4.30 a.m. According to police, the ill fated bus (MN-05-1112) carrying some 45-odd passengers was on its way from Imphal to Darjeeling when the accident occurred. The cause of the accident was reported to be due to mechanical failure. One passenger died on the sport and another succumbed to injuries at Naga Hospital Kohima (NHK), Of the 17 injured undergoing treatments at NHK, the condition of two was stated to be serious. The deceased were identified as Tusli (41) and Ram Narain (65). The two drivers were still absconding, Police added. NPCC condoles: Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has expressed sadness over the tragic bus accident near KMC dumping site in which 2 persons were killed and many others injured. NPCC in a press release issued by general secretary (Admn), NPCC, Medokhul Sophie conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and wished speedy recovery to the injured passengers. NPCC also expressed appreciation to the police and medical authorities for taking timely action in mitigating the problem. (Correspondent)
