PGSU NU (L) freshers’ social held

11th freshers' social of Post Graduate Students' Union (PGSU), Nagaland University, Lumami was held November 28 at University auditorium, Lumami with Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), chairperson, K. Khekaho Assumi as chief guest. DMC chief addressing the function said Nagaland University, Lumami was a hot bed for knowledge, power and wisdom for those who seek education through hard work and determination. Reminding the students that they have come half way to pursue the career of their life, Assumi said there was no reason they should be looking back but look forward to their goal to achieve with determination. "What you make of yourself is your destiny", assumed asserted. Talking about preservation of rich cultural heritage of Naga people, Khekaho reiterated that younger Naga generation must preserve their tradition while keeping pace with the ever advancing world. "Our tradition is our identity but we also need to be economically sustainable for our well being," he stated. Sensing the need for more infrastructures at Lumami, DMC chairperson urged leaders to give more attention towards the lone university of the state. Others who spoke on the occasion included dean students' welfare incharge, Dr. John Sema and PGSU (L) president, S. Imkongtiba. DMC chief donated rupees one lakh towards the fund and welfare of the PGSU (L).
