Even as various eateries and stalls seemed to be doing brisk business for the second consecutive day of the Hornbill festival at Kisama, lack of sufficient water supply remained a big concern for many stall owners. Many stall owners have been forced to shell out additional cash to transport water from outside. One stall owner alleged that water supply was given only to few stalls and that others were compelled to arrange water supply from sources outside the Naga Heritage Complex. “We bring water in our vehicles from sources outside”, the owner said. Another stall owner said she had to fully engage two boys throughout the day just to fetch water from outside sources so that her business could be run smoothly. The state PHE department previously had installed a large water reservoir to ensure sufficient water supply to the Naga Heritage Village. The department however could not be reached for its comment on the scarcity of water.
