As part of the Miss Nagaland 2008 beauty pageant contest, the organizer Beauty Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) along with the reigning Miss Nagaland 2007, 1st and 2nd runner up and the 13 Miss Nagaland hopefuls paid a visit to the old age home, Kohima Wednesday . The team led by Kevi, President BASN including Nagaland 2007, Imsulemla, 1st runner-up Yanbeni and 2nd runner-up Nüvolü interacted with the managing director Neithonuo Legiese and inmates of the home run by 'Good Samaritan Society'. Managing director Neithonuo Legiese briefed the visitors about the history and vision of the old age home and said earlier it had 28 inmates registered but many of them from the rural villages could not adjust with the environment in town and had return to their native places leaving the home with only 12 inmates comprising of six men and six women. The home provide best possible healthcare and nutrition to the inmates and is purely run through contribution from the Church, NGOs, individuals and well wishers. During the visit, reigning Miss Nagaland Imsulemla told the 13 hopefuls that beauty is skin deep, and that it includes love and care for the aged and elderly people. The visit by the young beauties to the home evidently fired up emotions among the elderly inmates of the home whose faces brightened up after interaction filling the room with laughter. Interestingly, the elderly when asked to pick their choice as to who would win the coveted Miss Nagaland title, unanimously picked Reema Zeliang as their choice. The visiting BASN also presented the inmates with a blanket each and also donated some cash to the home. The visit concluded with a photo session with the inmates. (Correspondent)
