Hornbill rock contest from today

The seven day Hornbill Music Festival entered day-two on Wednesday featuring country, western, blues and veterans night. The music fans were enthralled by the likes of Lui, Kekhriesenuo, Emilo Patton, Lipoktemsu, Imkong Ao, Hailung Zeliang, Mezhuzolie and Namnahei, Anito and friends, Robert Khuvung and friends, Squadron and Kasba bands and Dr. Nicky Kire, MLA, Advisor Music Task Force. The Music Task Force, (YRS) organizers of the Hornbill Music Festival, 2008 informed that draw of lots of auditions for the National Rock Contest would be held on December 4 (Thursday) between 8am to 10am. All the participating bands have been informed to report at the control room, local ground, Kohima. Several outstations bands have already arrived Kohima for the mega contest. The Hornbill national rock contest, 2008 starts December 4 till 7. On December 4, the contest would be launched formally by state chief secretary Lalhuma as chief guest starting at 4.30 pm, with 11 bands taking part. On December 5, the screening of the bands would continue. Gallery ticket holders would be allowed to enter through gates located just opposite NSF office. Meanwhile, organizers have informed that there would be strict entry of vehicles in the local ground. Only vehicles having car passes belonging to VIPs, official and patrons would be allowed to enter from southern gate, while the rest pass holders such as event/ service and patron would be allowed to enter from northern gate.
