Hundreds of women under the aegis of Tuensang District Mother Association TDMA staged a procession in Tuensang Friday to protest the November 27 incident where Tsukheamla Yim was allegedly murdered by Tsalise Sangtam, a jawan of the 10th Assam Rifle posted in Aizawl, Mizoram. Carrying placards and banners some of which read ‘do not take law in own hand’, ‘do not torture women,’ and ‘killing of mother will not solve desire’, the rallyist first converged at Chang Church and at police point, where a meeting was held. In the meeting the rallyist vented their anger and resentment over the abuses heaped on women and strongly condemned crimes against women. TDMA demanded for immediate precautionary measures against the culprit and warned against releasing the culprit without any clearance from the association by any organization or individuals. They also wanted stringent action against the culprit.
