Continuing with development projects for the benefit of local population 28 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) accomplished its long standing commitment of providing better career prospects to the local youth by inaugurating a new computer centre under DGAR MCA project November 26 at Ao Baptist Church, Jalukie. According to a defense release the project provided two computer sets with one printer and peripherals to the Church. 28 Assam Rifles, commandant, colonel, S.C Rana who inaugurated the computer centre highlighted the need for the local youth to gain maximum benefit of computer literacy which would enable them to avail better job opportunities. He also emphasized that gaining knowledge and experience to make a better living was an honourable option rather than being misguided and getting from the main stream. The release said that church trust and town chairman of Jalukie has expressed gratitude to Maj. Gen J.P Nehra, IGAR (N) and Brig A.K singh, Cdr HQ 5 Sect Assam Rifles for their personal endeavor in the speedy execution of the establishment of the computer centre.
