Abin crowned Miss Nagaland

Seventeen year old Abin was crowned Miss Nagaland Saturday night at a gala event held at State Academy Hall, Kohima. The first runners-up was bagged by Nyeie Leinak Phom from Longleng while Chumlano Kikon from Wokha bagged the second runners- up . Aspiring to become a journalist, Abin comes from Peren district. Her hobby includes singing, sketching and playing guitar. The evening witnessed 13 contestants from various districts of the state competing for the coveted Miss Nagaland 2008 title. After the introduction rounds, the race narrowed down to ten semi-finalists and later further narrowed down to five in the final rounds. The winners of the sub titles included: Nyeie Leinak Phom as Miss Congeniality; Chumlano Kikon as Miss Perfect Ten and Miss Beautiful Skin; Reema Zeliang as Miss Photogenic while Moakala Phom won the Eastern Mirror Readers’ Choice. Kevekha Zehol, Mhalo, Hotoli Yeptho, Watienla Jamir and Abao Kire were the judges for the beauty pageant. Models sashayed the ramp with the fashion designs by Akumnaro, Ethel Konyak and Gürtel during the event. Special numbers were also presented by NSACS Naga Idol 2008 Toshinaro, Naga Idol 2007 Rokovotuo and Naga Idol 2008 finalists Kenei and Shenieta.
