Army sponsors educational tour for students

As part of 'operation Sadbhavna' an excursion of 20 school children and a teacher of Phek District was flagged off at December 7 at Zakhama Military station. The children from class VIII to XI from various schools under Phek district have been sent to Kolkata and Shillong for excursion, a defense handout said Monday. During the tour school boys would visit Howrah Bridge, Belur Math, Dakshineswer Kali Temple, Victoria Memorial, Indian Museum, Birla Tara Mandal, Niko Park, Science City, Salt Lake Stadium, Botanical Garden, Alipur Chidiya Khana, Kalighat Mandir, Nalban Park, Millennium Park, Eden Garden, Fort William, ES Planet, Hati Bagan and a ride in Metro train at Kolkata, it maintained. In Shillong, team would visit Happy Valley, Polo Ground, Cherapunjee, Umroi Lake, Shillong Peak and Water Fall, the release added. The tour would culminate December 18 at Rangapahar Military Cantonment. The excursion has been organized under the aegis of 164 Inf Bn (TA) (H&H) NAGA.
