Hushmind gears up for ‘Spunk’ youth fest

One time favourite of the youth way back in the year 2002-2003 -youth festival 'Spunk' formulated by N. Hongba Semdok is back with a bang. Youth festival 'spunk' after a gap of four years with the same objective to provide platform to talented Naga youth in the state and the neighbouring Northeastern states, would be organising its four-day festival starting December 17 at DDSC stadium, Dimapur. Briefing media persons at 'Breeze' restaurant,Dimapur Wednesday, organiser of the festival-Hushmind said participation from Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung and Tseminyu including Mizoram and Assam have been confirmed and that registration is still on due to positive response form schools. Chairman of the Hushmind Chuba Phom said each band would perform two songs for 15 minutes for the beat contest which is slated for two consecutive nights. The curtain raiser for the festival will witness Native Rising, fire display from Mon district and Naga Idol finalists 2008. As for the prizes for winners, Mr and Miss 'Spunk' will walk away with cash prize of Rs10,000 each, gift voucher worth Rs 5,000 besides 15,000 worth car music system which is being sponsored by Screwdriver. In addition to the gifts, winners of Miss and Mr 'Spunk' will get the privilege to undergo six months grooming classes from Ginger International Grooming Academy based at Guwhati. Winners of free style will get Rs 10,000 cash prize and one promotional show plus swift NIIT course sponsored by NIIT will be awarded. For the winner of beat contest Rs 15,000 plus one promotional show and swift NIIT course will be awarded. According to Hushmind chairman there would be no criteria for participants except for the model contest where height of female model should be 5ft.3inch and for male model 5ft.6inch, both participants of the model contest should be of 18 years and above.
