FH opens Telemedicine Centre

Pioneering modern health care in Dimapur, Faith Hospital (FH) added another feather in its cap with the inaugural of a tele- medicine Centre which now links it with medical institutes and hospitals throughout the country. The Telemedicine Centre was formally inaugurated at a simple function here Thursday, after the chief guest, Geoffrey Yaden, Editor Nagaland Post, cut the ribbon to the room housing the centre located within the hospital complex. Earlier in his address, the chief guest stressed on health care system as essential requirement in a fast growing city like Dimapur. Geoffrey said the Telemedicine Centre was a turnaround for the people of the state as it has opened an entirely new vista of diagnosis and treatment. He lauded the achievements of Dr. Sukhato, the promoter for the efforts made to provide Dimapur with an ultra modern hospital. He said the success of Dr Sukhato's venture was because God chose to bless the efforts and not because God had no option. He said faith was total obedience to God despite and Dr Sukhato had shown his obedience to God's calling. On the dedication of the Centre, the chief guest urged the doctors, nurses and other staff of the hospital to understand that dedicating themselves to do their best was most essential than dedicating equipments. He also exhorted all those present to be encouragers to those who serve society with dedication and also to uphold them in prayers. Dr. Himanshu, head of Apollo Hospitals while giving an introduction of telemedicine explained it has created global health care system and patient care has improved through access of telemedicine facilities. He explained that doctors in Faith Hospital would be able to share all information about a patient with super specialists throughout the country and obtain correct diagnosis and subsequent treatment. Faith Hospital, Dimapur as the pioneer in installing telemedicine will be connected to super specialists in hospitals like Apollo hospital, Ahmedabad, Fortis Hospital Delhi, Fortis Hospital, Noida, P.D Hinduja Memorial Hospital, Chennai, B. M. Birla Research Centre, Kolkata, CMC Vellore with plans for enlarged interlinking with other medical institutes in India and abroad. Earlier the welcome address was delivered by Dr P.C Sharma Director of Faith Hospital while programme was chaired by Dr Wilabo Zeliang Medical Superintendent of Faith Hospital. Rev. Inaho, Pastor Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church, conducted the prayer and dedication of the Telemedicine Centre.
