State PCCF placed under suspension

Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF), Nagaland, Dr. CL Goel has been placed under suspension following disciplinary proceedings against him, to facilitate “impartial inquiry free from interference.” “The Governor of Nagaland, in exercise of Rule 3 (1) (a) of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal Rules) 1969, is pleased during the pendancy of the disciplinary proceedings against the said Dr. CL Goel, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF), Nagaland, to place him under suspension with immediate effect,” stated an order issued by State chief secretary Lalhuma. The order also stated that in exercise of Rule 41 (1) (a) of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal Rules) 1969, Goel would be entitled to a subsistence allowance equal to leave salary entitled to the officer, on furnishing of a certificate that he is not engaged in any other employment, business, profession or vocation as required under Rule 4 (2) of All India Services (Discipline and Appeal Rules) 1969. Further, during the period that the order shall remain in force, the headquarters of the PCCF shall be Kohima and the officer shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining prior permission of the chief secretary, the order said. Meanwhile, it could not be ascertained on what grounds disciplinary action was contemplated against the PCCF, Nagaland.
