Nagaland People's Front (NPF) in its general convention held November 18 at Kohima has unanimously resolved to extend continuous support to Political Affairs Committee (PAC) in reconciling and uniting Naga National workers and bring them under negotiating table. A statement issued by party central office Wednesday said it would also continue to lend their unflinching support to all the peace process and to restore Naga fraternity. “The NPF reiterates our commitment for a peaceful negotiated settlement of the long drawn Indo-Naga political issue,” the statement said and appealed all warring factions to cease fire and declare a general amnesty for early solution. The party also reaffirmed to adhere to its policy of “paving the way for an alternate arrangement in the event of a successful dialogue. Meanwhile, the convention has also vehemently condemned the acts of “sacrilege” committed in many parts of India against Christians, and has expressed its sympathy to fallen victims to the nefarious design of some extreme elements. Further, it urged the responsible to uphold in letter and spirit the secular character of the constitution under all circumstances and not to yield forces. The NPF has also urged the responsible authorities to protect the lives and properties of the Christians in the effected states and immediately promulgate stringent measures to halt the fanatical campaign against Christian minorities. The party has also congratulated all its leaders for conquering new frontiers in the over all development of the state and its people to earn a well deserved distinction. The party also extended their expressed gratitude all the DAN coalition.
