Enterprising Youth Centre for capacity development

Enterprising Youth Centre a one-stop platform for young people to engage in their capacity development through a series of training and group activities was inaugurated Friday at Diphupar with former NDO chairman and co-director of MMI, Texas USA, Dr. T .Lima as chief guest. In his speech, Dr. Lima stressed on the need for a centre that would facilitate and motivate young people to sustain livelihood since Nagas still had convention of obtaining white-collar jobs. He urged the youth centre to maintain transparency in their work and achieve practicality as most NGO's prioritized in receiving funds Initiated by the Molung Women and Child Welfare Society (MWCWS), Youth Employment Systems (YES), Campaign, Boston- USA, NE SMILE Centre, Guwahati and Youth Collective, New Delhi, the centre will be providing employment and community service support. It also aimed to accompany hundreds of youth in Nagaland towards purposeful living and to improve work culture among the youth. The centre would offer courses in computer application, desk top publishing, spoken English /Hindi, entrepreneurship development training and NGO management training etc besides offering facilities like career counseling, mock interview services, library facilities and talent hunt program. Earlier the programme included speeches from president, Diphupar Naga Students' Union Kitoi Sumi, Eastern Naga Students' Union Dimapur, Pusu Nyukthan and general secretary Dimapur Naga Students' Union, Abenthung Ngullie. Some of the highlights of the programme were songs by Naga Idol Finalist 08' Bakup, Sanglamlung , Namthuirai and Pinsane.
