Wokha district youth festival

First of its kind in the district, department of youth resources and sports, Wokha conducted district level youth festival at town hall, Wokha Saturday. Competitions on folk song and dance, elocution, and guitar recitals were held. In the folk song category, first prize went to Phiro cultural club, second prize to Longsa cultural club, and third prize to Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Wokha. In the folk dance category, first prize went to Phiro cultural club, second prize to N. Longidang cultural club, and third prize to Longsa cultural club. In the elocution category, Shanchobeni Khuvung of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Wokha bagged the first prize while Merenla of Mount Tiyi College and Apila Sangtam of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Wokha bagged the second and third prizes respectively. In the guitar recitals category, Mhonyamo Lotha bagged the first prize while Rhanbenthung Odyuo and Yonny Murry got the second and third prizes respectively. Earlier, at the function, chief guest Lotha Hoho Chairman Nyanbemo Ngullie declared the Youth Festival open. Others who attended the programme included Kikumsangla Jamir, EAC Wokha HQ, Soren Kikon, CDPO Wozhuro, Thungdeno Yanthan, district cultural officer, Wokha, Bailey Baptist College lecturer Achumbeni, youth resources officer, Wokha K. Libemo Jami and Naga Idol finalist Emilo Patton who also presented a special number.
