Longla Vill Students’ Union conference DIMAPUR: The 43rd general conference of Longla Village Students' Union (LVSU) would be held on December 29 and 30 at GPS compound, Longla village, with Dr. Chanbemo, Dimapur, as chief guest and Yanpothung Ngullie, Yanthamo village, as theme speaker on the topic 'restructuring vision' while Chibemo Ngullie, DB Wokha would exhort the congregation. The union in a press release issued by its general secretary, Yanithung N. Ngullie, has requested all students from Class VII and above to attend the programme positively at the same time also informed all the meritorious students to submit their names to the union's officials latest by December 28. TSU general session Kohima: The 56th general session of Thüvopisumi Students' Union would be held on December 29 and 30 on the theme "The Hour to Catch Up the Contemporary Trend" with Zaseveyi venyo, civil judge, JMFC Phek, as chief guest; and Avonuo Dozo, lecturer, Government College, Wokha, as session speaker. Union president and colleagues have extended invitation to all executive officials, senior students, leaders and well wishers at the occasion. NSCN (IM) Mkg informs public MOKOKCHUNG: The NSCN (IM), Mokokchung town commander, Captain Nungsang Imsong, has informed public of Mokokchung to maintain peace and decorum during the festive season. The town commander in a press release stated "It is during this festive occasion of Christmas and New Year; one should not spoil or dampen the peaceful atmosphere." The commander also stated anybody not adhering to the call would be strictly dealt with. He also extended season's greetings to all people of Mokokchung and Nagaland in general. Purütso khel Kohima: A general meeting of Purütso Khel members of Jakhama village has been convened on December 27,10 am at Purütso Khel, Jakhama. All members have been informed to attend the meeting. Office closure DIMAPUR: The office of ACCC-I Dimapur-I A/C would remain closed from December 24 to January 10 in view of festive season. ACCC I Dimapur-I A/C in a press release issued by its vice-president, Odinungsang, has also conveyed its Christmas greetings to all section of the people. MSU jubilee DIMAPUR: Mishilimi Students Union (MSU) would celebrate its golden jubilee December 27 and 28 under the theme "Marking our steps for posterity" with parliamentary secretary, industries and commerce, Dr. K.C. Nihoshe gracing the celebration. Union and village council has invited all villagers staying outside the village, in-law and families and well wishers to reach the village by December 26 and join the "Historic Celebration." KYSO session Dimapur: The 4th general session of the Kezhakeno youth & students' organisation has been convened on January 3 at Zhepfhe Taza-o Kezhakeno under the theme "Marching onwards as one" with Medical officer, paramedical training institute Kohima Nagaland, Dr. Joel Koza as the speaker. Organisation president, Kolhoupe Koza in release has requested all the members residing in and outside the village to attend and further invited the patrons, elders, dignitaries and well wishers to grace the said session. 14 NAP (IR) new complex DIMAPUR: Office of the Commandant, 14 NAP (IR), would start functional from December 29 at the erstwhile 10 NAP (IR) Bn office (Signal Training Complex), Chumukedima. Commandant of the battalion in a press communiqué has also informed all candidates applying for the post of constable (driver) in the said battalion to submit their applications to its office accordingly for which the last date for receipt would be on January 6. ZSU informs KOHIMA: Zhavame Students Union would hold its 49th general session December 27 at Pame Tsüdu, Zhavame village with state commissioner and secretary, tourism, art and culture, Khekiye K. Sema as Chief Guest and MLA, Deo Nukhu as guest of honour. Union has requested all government officials and senior students to attend the programme for a discussion hour of the golden jubilee celebration. Chamber of Commerce meet DIMAPUR: A meeting of chamber of commerce and industries of various districts has been convened on January 9, 10 a.m at hotel Japfü Kohima. According to President Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Khriehuzo Lohe, the meeting would deliberate on matters pertaining to Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industries. NCSC inaugural function DIMAPUR: Inaugural function of 16th National Children's Science Congress (NCSC) would be held on December 27 at 4:15 pm at Living Stone Foundation Higher Secondary School (LSFHSS), Dimapur. The Congress would be inaugurated by former president of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in the presence of Nyeiwang Konyak, minister for school education as guest of honour. Director, School Education, Nipusilie Angami, in a press communiqué has informed all government science teachers and students of Class IX to XII in Dimapur and Kohima that they are mandatory to attend the function. LMUD picnic DIMAPUR: All bona fide citizens of Lotisa Mapulu Union Dimapur (LMUD) have been informed that there would be a New Year party cum Annual Pinic of the union January 1, 2009 at Chathe River, near Kuda Cold Storage, 5th Mile. Coordinator, K. Shekiye Chishi has requested all responsible to take part in the picnic. Ashes of R.Seyie to arrive DIMAPUR: The ashes of late Ruopfükhrielie Seyie, a Naga who died in his Los Angeles (LA), USA home would arrive at Dimapur airport December 27 at around 7: 20 a.m. According to family sources, thereafter they would proceed to his native village, Mengujuma, wherein a funeral service would be held to mark his last journey at 12 noon on the same day. It may be noted that the cremation service was organized by the Naga fraternity in LA on December 20. ACYA convention KOHIMA: The 28th general convention of Angami Catholic Youth Association (ACYA) would be held from January 16 to 18 at Christ King Church, Kohima village under the theme "I can do everything through him who gives me strength". The convention hosted by ACYA Kohima village expects over 1000 delegates from various Angami region. Dedication prog KOHIMA: The Sendenyu and Phenshiinyu Peace Accord Stone dedication programme would be held December 29, 11a.m. at Old Bokajan Road Box cutting. File bag lost A black coloured file bag belonging to general secretary of Naga Students' Federation (NSF) has been lost at Kohima. EUUN to represent all Naga tribes Dimapur: Educated Unemployed Union Dimapur (EUUN) would re-organize members consisting of all Naga tribes of Nagaland. According to chairman EUUN, reorganizing committee for Dimapur, Khohoto Sema, due to the number of educated unemployed increasing with the growth of unemployed problem in the state and Dimapur it could create a lot of self employment opportunities. Further he stated that role of educated unemployed had also increased with the change of time and for which he urged them to contribute their duties towards the society. EUUN has appealed all educated unemployed to march forward and co-operate for its success. SVC clarifies DIMAPUR: Satakha Village Council (SVC) has clarified the news item appeared in some local dailies under the heading "Four arrested for car jacking". Clarifying the news item, chairman of Satakha Village Council (SVC) in a press release stated that one of the accused Kahovi Zhimo has falsely given statement to police as son of Ahovi Zhimo of Satakha village. The release also said there is only one Ahovi of Satakha village who is presently serving as GB of Satakha town and none of his sons were involved in such incident. Pre-C’mas celebration at Pherima DIMAPUR: Staff and inmates of 'special home and observation home', Pherima celebrated pre-Christmas at its premises on December 23. The main speaker of the event was Khehoto Sema, assistant director, social welfare while Kevelo Duolo care taker pronounced the invocation. The other highlights of the programme included welcome address by Kevineinuo probation officer. Inmates of the home presented a Christmas song and read the Bible, while vote of thanks was proposed by Budhi Ram care taker. The programme was chaired by Deepak Chetri care taker followed by a mass prayer. URF thanksgiving service DIMAPUR: Thanksgiving service of United Revival Fellowship (URF) Mission, Dimapur branch, would be held on December 28 at 10 am at SBC Kusaibill, Dimapur, with Rev. Dr. Z.K Rochill auxiliary secretary, BSI Dimapur, as resource person while Vikheto Yeptho, retired joint director, would exhort the gatherings. According to a press release issued by mission in-charge cum executive officer, URF, Dimapur branch, N. Khekiye Aye, Kikimiye Shukiphe, DSBA, and prayer warrior of UHNBE would be presenting special songs. The release further requested all mission partners, prayer warriors, board of directors and members, and working members to attend the service.
