4 militants desert rehabilitation centre

At least four surrendered militants all from PULF outfit deserted the State Rehabilitation Centre located at Lamphel this month stated a report received from the state police department while putting up a proposal for erecting fencing and providing additional infrastructures to the centre. The police department is proposing a fund amounting to Rs. 24, 43,940 for the above said proposal, official sources said. A total of 36 militants surrendered including the four absconding militants and are currently at the rehabilitation centre sponsored by the Centre and the state government. With 16 surrendered militants, PULF outfit has the highest number of surrendered militants in the centre. Only 12 are currently lodged at the centre while earlier, two deserted the centre in August and September respectively. Among the remaining militants at the centre, seven are from People Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), four from United National Liberation Front (UNLF), two each from PLA, Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), Kuki National Army (KNA) and National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) and one from the Kanglei Yoel Kanna Lup (KYKL).
