Naga girls shine in Signature awards

Jarini, Avikal and Ariko from Nagaland have proved their mettle in the recently concluded Signature awards. These three brave and artistic young girls from Nagaland have stolen the hearts of many by walking on the ramp of Guwahati in the recently concluded Signature Awards 2008 organised by Signature Training Centre, the only makeup and hairstyle competition in India on December 17. Since 1998, every year there is a large gathering of participants, viewers, manufacturers, and professionals of international fame from beauty world. The event is organized to bring out the hidden talents of beauty therapists, beauticians, hairstylists, hair designers, makeup artists of the region. This event also gives an atmosphere of healthy competition amongst the professionals of the beauty world. The models, dress designers, jewelry designer, beauty therapists, beauty students, aspirants in this profession, makeup artists, cosmetics dealers and manufactures all get a common platform to boost their education and career. It becomes a common ground for all concerned to meet and interact. The Signature awards has managed to bring together more than 10,000 beauty professionals from North east India, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangkok, Hongkong, China and London. People from different professions have shown keen interest in this great event not only as observers but participants. The event has pulled together editors, media persons, artists, writers, film personalities, administrators, business persons as noted guests, judges, organizers of the event. It is being considered as a noted event and much waited for. The venue was at Guwahati, the gateway of Northeast - Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Assam, and Steelwel road connecting the Asian countries of Laos, Burma, Bhutan, Nepal, China, Thailand and Singapore. The city is surrounded with green hills, and the mighty Red River “Brahmaputra”. Known for its rich herbal heritage and Ayurvedic background, it is also the Jagrata seat of tantrism. The stage is set in Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra Ac Auditorium in Panjabari, Guwahati, on November 2. Altogether 34 participants from all over Northeastern states have joined hands together with 102 models. Jarini who joined the show as make-up artist, presented Ariko as a young Naga modern Christian bride in the first round. She presented Avikal in the second round, i.e. the fantasy round as the beautiful Holloween fairy. Jarini did an exceptional work and was appreciated highly by all the guests and public. Special shows were put forward by ex-signature students with their models. Lata Khanchandani of Mumbai famed for being a noted hairstylist of Shilpa Shetty and many other film and T.V. stars put a live demo of hairstyles and makeup. Khanchandani and Sandhya Chipalkatti, editor of Stylespeak, presented a seminar on latest trends, development, in beauty business on November 3 at Hotel Ambarish. More than 100 beauty therapists were present for the seminar from all over the NE region carrying back with them, rich knowledge and ideas on different aspects of beauty business and certificates from “Latas Academy”, Mumbai. The programme had Radio GupShup 94.3 fm, Saparibar Stylespeak, Mumbai, Saundarjya aro Sashthya magazine as media partners. Prizes were sponsored by Stylespeak Magazine Mumbai, Latas Academy Mumbai, Ethinic Air Travels Guwahati, Rajshree Dhaba Garsuk, Pickmee Guwahati, Henna, Sibsagar, Rupa, Duliajan, Urvashi, Jorhat, Probina, Dibrugarh, Jessamine, Tinsukia, Soyoung, Jorhat, Pearl, Nalbari, Rose, Nagaon, Vibgyor Golaghat, Verbena, Tezpur. The first prize winner was declared Signature Empress winning a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and a return ticket to Kolkata, free Thai massage training at ITM, Chiangmai, gift hampers, one year subscription of Stylespeak, SAPARIBAR Soundarjya aro Sashthya, modeling assignments from Saparibar aro Saundrajya and Sashthya Show in Mumbai. The second prize winner was declared Signature Queen, with cash prize of Rs. 6000, massage training in Ayurveda from Signature Training Centre, gift hampers, one year subscription of Saparibar, Soundarjya aro Sashthya, modeling assignments from Saparibar and Saundrajya aro Sashthya Show in Mumbai and third prize winner was declared Signature Princess winning cash prize of Rs. 4000, gift hampers, one year subscription of Saparibar, Soundarjya aro Sashthya, modeling assignments from Saparibar and Saundrajya Aro Sashthya Show in Mumbai Presently Zarini and Avikal are in service with a renowned beauty salon in Guwahati placed by Signature Training centre, Guwahati.
