DC Dimapur Maongwati has asked the Airport Authority of India (AAI) to uplift the poor passenger facilities and amenities in Dimapur Airport in the light of several complaints received from passengers. In a letter addressed to the Regional Executive Director, AAI, LGBI Airport Guwahati, Maong cited some of the complaints that included less passenger seats in the airport terminal and that too which were “not comfortable” and shortage of trolleys. Describing the issue as “very serious” the DC Dimapur asked the AAI at Guwahati to look into the complaints at the earliest. Further, the DC also pointed out that Dimapur Airport does not have air conditioned hall, bookstalls, restaurant and other stalls which are pre-requisite of an Airport. He said several passengers also sought know through RTI as to why such minimum requirements were not met at the State’s only Airport. The DC in this regard requested the AAI to immediately take up the matter and provide what is due to the passengers.
