With the purpose to equip IEC officials to conduct IPC/GD and advocacy sessions in selected villages a three-day training workshop for IEC officials of health and family welfare department kick started Tuesday at Red Cross Complex Kohima, with health and family welfare commissioner and secretary, Menukhol John as chief guest.
Addressing the function chief guest suggested officials to club together with all other program officers and make 2009 a year of merging together. He also appealed for coordinated efforts towards achieving triple goods of reducing Total Fertility Rate, Infant Mortality Rate and Maternal Mortality Rate, an official bulletin stated.
Director (family welfare), Dr. Kumini Kathipri, additional secretary and mission director (NRHM), T. Limsong, also spoke at the function.
The first batch included officials from Mokokchung, Tuensang, Longleng, Mon, Zunheboto and Kiphire districts. Second batch scheduled to be held from January 14 to 16 will include Dimapur, Peren, Kohima, Wokha and Phek districts.
