Home Minister Imkong L Imchen today called upon the various Naga underground groups for immediate cessation of hostilities and killing saying that Nagas killing Nagas was a criminal act. Addressing the inaugural session of the 62nd Chakhesang Students’ Union General Session cum Phek Students’ Union Golden Jubilee, Imkong said that Nagas killing Nagas was not an act of nationalism but a criminal act. The Home Minister has left none in doubt that problems of peace and development were marred by factional killings and activities in Nagaland. He also stated that Nagas are today facing problem of employment and not unemployment and substantiated his point by pointing out that the various jobs in diverse area are presently undertaken by the non Nagas. He said such jobs could have been done by Nagas and for which a large number of Naga youths could have been employed. Imkong also pointed out that the educational system and the curriculum were only for white colour government jobs, unlike in other state where people looked towards self employment instead of government job. Former Home Minister Thenucho also exhorted the students on the occasion while the NSF and CPO extended their greeting on the occasions. Our Correspondent
