On the theme "Two Drops of Life" Phek district January 11 conducted 1st Phase of IPPI with a total of 180 booths with DC Phek, Zachive Thele giving away first two doses before launching IPPI programme. The programmed was organized by District Immunization Officer (DIO), Dr.Khriezotuo Papino under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr.S.Hangsing in co-ordination with the District Administration and various NGOs. District media officer, Mhonchan Tungoe in a release has expressed gratitude to all responsible participants', administration, NGOs, churches, parents and volunteers for making the programme a success.
MON: Joining hand with the rest of the state, Mon district January 11 also conducted first stage of IPPI. DC Mon, Dinesh Kumar speaking at the occasion called upon all the parents to participate while urged everyone to extend full cooperation to achieve its 100% target. DIO Mon, Dr. Mukherjee also expressed gratitude toi NGOs, public and staff for their participation. Altogether 235 Polio booths were set up all over Mon district with a target to cover 36491 children from 0-5 years. The second stage of IPPI would be conducted on February 8.
PEREN: IPPI was also conducted in Peren district on 11th January 2009 with a total of 156 booths and a target of 13,590. DC Peren administered the first Polio drop on the occasion. According to an official bulletin house to house campaign, administering polio drops, would be carried out on January 12 and 13 in the district.
