51st D-Khel day observed

Nagaland khadi and village industries board Chairman Dr. Nicky Kire, MLA Saturday said with the change of modern society, cultural performances have to be modified and make it livelier, in doing so, he said the traditional values of elders should be respected Exhorting the mammoth gathering at the 51st Dapfhütsumia (D. Khel) Kohima village day at D. Khel ground he emphasized on the need of unity and understanding amongst the people for the welfare of D. Khel "without which no development can take place." On behalf of the Government, he assured to extend all possible for the development of the Khel. Earlier, reports of Council, Village Development Board, Village Education Council and Joint Forest Management Cooperation under D. Khel were presented by Vilasielie Pienyü, Thejasetuo Keretsü, Ruokuolhoulie Kire and Zotuo Kire respectively. Chaired by the council chairman, T. Abao Kire, the programme started with Rev. Viwelie Khezhie, Senior Pastor Khedi Baptist Church pronouncing the invocation. Zakiebeilie Khezhie, president DYO delivered the welcome address while Thejasenuo Kire & friends and Cultural Promotion Society enthralled the gathering with special numbers, folks songs, dances and kids Naga wrestling exhibition. Vice Chairman Dr. Sadikuolie Khezhie tendered the vote of thanks while the function concluded with community feast.
