Diploma course in RDM to start July ‘09

Applications for the Postgraduate Diploma (PG) Programme course in Rural Development Management (RDM), National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD), Hyderabad has been called for the state of Nagaland. This was disclosed by SIRD Joint director V. Shijoh, while interacting with the media person on Friday at SIRD conference room, Kohima. The one year course starts July 2009 and a special module course with scholarship provision and other facilities would be availed for the unemployed youth/graduates of the North East. A special course is also necessary so that the social problems relating to the NE Region could be understood and developmental projects and schemes can be implemented in an effective way. The course would also provide the management techniques that would enhance understanding of practice of rural development. Candidates have to undergo entrance examination, group discussion and interview to be selected for the course. Candidates should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized University, for students who are in the final year and expecting to complete all the requirements of graduation before July 1, 2009 could also apply. Reservation for SC, ST and disabled candidates would be made as per government of India's policies. As for the entrance examination, it would be conducted on April 27, 2009 in several centers across the country. The prospectus -cum -application form could be obtained from Professor and Head (CPGS) on payment of application fee of Rs. 1,000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST candidates) by an "Account Payee" demand draft drawn in favour of NIRD, Hyderabad. It can also be downloaded from NIRD website www.nird.org.in. The filled in application form has to be submitted along with the application fee to the Prof. & Head (CPGS) National Institute of Rural Development, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad 500 030 (A.P), so as to reach on or before February 29, 2009 .Candidates have been informed to contact SIRD Directorate, Nagaland Kohima. Headquarter of National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) is located at Hyderabad and its regional office for the region at North Eastern Regional Centre, Guwahati and also at State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) in all states of the country.
