A venture to extend the state's economy by building the capacity of young people in entrepreneurship, the Entrepreneurs Associates has initiated three month training on entrepreneurship Saturday at Kohima. The training comes with the package to provide local job placements for some of the trainers; while some will be shortlist for loan support by the office. A total of 60 trainers will be equipped with business management skills, personality development, presentation of project proposals etc. Experts from service, financial, trade and commerce and retail sectors, hoteliers, etc will be the resource persons during the training. In a gathering with the trainers Saturday, Coordinator of Entrepreneurs Associates, Neichüte Doulo, said that youths should be drivers of developing the society through entrepreneurship and should provide jobs to the people. Dwelling on a report conducted in three districts of the state, Doulo said that 45,000 non-Nagas had their business establishments, running into 450 crores per annum as their income. Stating that many opportunities were grabbed by non-locals, he urged the trainers to take up the available opportunities and make their own livelihood. Attending to the trainers, OSD, Planning and Coordination Department, Kevilenuo, called upon the trainers to set a target goal before venturing out. Stating that unemployment was a consequence of aimlessness, she urged them to be objective. She also said that people fail to take up opportunities available in the state. While the government provides assistance, she said that many schemes were not properly utilized. She encouraged the trainers to take up opportunities available stating "there is a bright future for all of us". In a same venture to ignite the minds of young people on entrepreneurial skills, a two month training programme on 'Entrepreneurial Skills Development' was earlier conducted in August by the Women Studies Centre (WSC), Nagaland University in partnership with Entrepreneur Associates.
