District-wise training on RTI

'Admi Ka Sipahi' (AAKS) with the initiative of Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) and the state level coordinators of AAKS imparted training on NREGA and RTI to Youth Congress leaders November 29 at Tening Town with resource persons SLCs of AAKS Dokiu Kecham, Rosy Thomson and Kiyexu Chishi, general Secretary of NPYC Mhonchumo Ovung and MLA Tarie Zeliang as guest speaker. Addressing the gathering Tarie emphasized on the importance of being in the congress party with reference to his association with the regional party in the recent past. He also stated that understanding the problems of the common people and enthusiasm to serve the society is vital for young leaders in preparation for the future. Highlighting the importance of the training camp and the activities of 'Aam Admi Ka Sipahi', resource person Rosy Thomson stated that AAKS played the mediating role between policy makers and common people. Dokiu Kecham speaking on, 'National Rural Employment Guarantee Act' urged upon the participants to carry forward the message of NREGA which guaranteed 100 days of wage employment to the people living in the rural villages while Mhonchumo Ovung speaking on Right to Information pointed out some important sections of RTI and stated that it is a means of empowering the citizen's access to information and enables them to get information from government agencies and government funding organizations. Further Kiyexu Chishi stated that the activities of AAKS was not confined to a particular place and the youth congress every where in the India were serving the common people with zeal and enthusiasm, and highlighted the activities of AKKS in the different district of our state. TUENSANG: District Youth Congress Tuensang, has conducted a Block level training under 57th A/C, covering Kiusam, Panso and Thonoknyu under DRDA Tuensang and Kiphere at Thonoknyu SDO (C) HQ. According to the District youth Congress President L. Shillem , altogether115 trainees from 26 villages including council chairman and VDB secretaries attended the programme. The programme was conducted as per directive by the IYC, NPYC Nation wide campaign under the Banner 'Aam Admi ka Sipahi', which mean 'soldiers of the common people'. In order to reach every village in the country, which has been highlighted the various schemes by congress led UPA Government with special reference to BRGF, NREGA & RTI act 2005 to enable the rural people to get maximum benefits from these schemes. The training was organized with an aimed to make the people aware of the benefits that the UPA Government created for poorest of the poor and every rightful job card holders should get 100 days of guarantee wage employed in a year. The teams also meet AKUP KUKI SDO(C) Thonoknyu and apprised him to extend full co-operation and support to implement effectively and to carry out the Employment Guarantee scheme. Meanwhile, the DYC also expressed gratitude to all council chairman, VDB secretaries and all political parties under 57th A/C Thonknyu for the success of the training camp.
