SAKK condemns DIMAPUR: Sumi Aphuyemi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SAKK) of Pughoboto area has condemned the assault meted to its member Tohovi Achumi president Tsaphimi Students' Union (TSU) and his brother Kiviho Achumi on December 12 by 12 IRB Jawans of C and E coy near detention centre, half Nagarjan on their return home from union duty. The union has condemned "dastardly act of the errant jawans" and has appealed responsible authorities to take appropriate action to bring justice at the earliest. DC Dimapur informs DIMAPUR: In view of the occurrence of bird flu in Assam and the ban imposed by the government of Nagaland, deputy commissioner Dimapur, Moangwati Aier has informed all that transportation of poultry birds by any means from village to village, and from village to towns and vice versa has been strictly banned. Local authorities of villages and towns in Dimapur district have been directed of the same. Defaulters and negligence by the local authorities will be viewed seriously. LKD gathering DIMAPUR: The 8th annual gathering of Lizumi Kuqhakulu Dimapur (LKD) has been convened on December 20 at 9 am at the residence of Kikhezhe Zhimo, Thilixu Village, 3rd Mile. The union in a press release issued by its secretary, Viheto Zhimo, has also informed that a special meeting on December 19 at 10 am for which all the household representatives have been directed to attend the meeting. PVSU 51st session DIMAPUR: The 51st Session of the Pongidong Village Students Union (PVSU) would held on December 29 to 30 at community hall under the theme "Moving towards the greater vision". N. Mhonlumo Ovung member Naga Council Dimapur and K. Phyolumo Humtsoe SI Dimapur would grace as chief quest and theme speaker respectively, while A.Elizabeth Humtsoe Wokha would be the introductory session speaker. Union General Secretary N. Amos Humtsoe in a release has requested all Pongidong students from Class-3 and above, former office bearers, elders and responsible member to attend the session and give support to the union. Further, the union also acknowledged S. Ajanbemo Humtsoe VDB Secretary Pongidong village and his family for sponsoring the session program. NSACS notifies DIMAPUR: In continuation to the advertisement NO.NSACS/APPTT-10/NPC/2006-07 dated the 4th December 2008 for filling up the post of Joint Director (TI) on contract basis under NSACS, the interview date would be December 29 for written test at NSACS conference hall, Kohima from10am to 12 noon and 1pm to 5pm for oral interview at NSACS Office, Kohima. According to Dr. Neiphi Kire, project director, the names of the short listed candidates who are eligible for the interview have been put up on NSACS notice board, and therefore have been directed to bring original documents as specified in the advertisement on the date of interview, stating no separate call letter would be issued individually. SSU session DIMAPUR: Satami Students' Union (SSU) has convened its 49th annual session from December 19 to 27 under the theme "Value of Education" with Col. R.R. Singh Commandant, 27th Assam Rifles, Zunheboto, Shetovi Phuleshe, deputy director, Border Affairs, as chief guest and guest of honour respectively during the inaugural and valedictory session. A release issued by the union's president, Davis Zhimo, said that Livika Yeptho, Advocate, Dimapur would be the resource person at the academic session for which the union has invited well wishers and the senior leaders of SSU and SKK. CAWD felicitated DIMAPUR: The Dimapur district headquarter administrative officers and the deputy commissioner's staff appreciated and thanked Central Administrative Works Department (CAWD), Nagaland for undertaking repair and renovation of the old administrative building which was badly in need of a facelift for a long time. According to an official bulletin, the officers and staff have also thanked the commissioner, Nagaland for taking the initiative for repair and renovation of DC's office, Dimapur. SNUNS condoles DIMAPUR: South Nagas Union of Nagaland State (SNUNS) has expressed grief over the demise of its founder members O. Kathipri. Conveying condolences to the bereaved family members, the union in a press release said the union came into existence with Late. Kathipri's initiative and with his death, the members of SNUNS have become "orphaned" at the same time his contribution towards the union would be remembered. The union further prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Aopao Changle vill recognition KOHIMA: The Aopao Changle newly constructed village on September 19, 2004 under ADC HQ Aboi in Mon district have applied for its recognition to government of Nagaland with all relevant documents enclosed from the neighboring villages and administration. In a notice issued by A. Long Shang, Secretary Aopao Changle village Mon district said that as per rules and regulation of government it was compelled to issue the notice on the village recognition. In this connection, villagers have been informed to raise objections if any to do so within 30 days from the date of this publication. KSU conference DIMAPUR: The 46th Kidima Students' Union (KSU) annual conference would be held on December 30 with Vimetsu Sachü, Chairman of Kidima Village Council as the chief guest. According to an official bulletin, the highlights of the conference would be an exhortation for the life and career for the students by Kevipopi Ltu, Advocate of Delhi High Court. Competitions on cultural items, talent show, quiz, singing, extempore and debate, best students from amongst the Lower Primary, Middle and High School levels would be awarded on the occasion. LVSU golden jubilee DIMAPUR: Longsa Village Students' Union (LVSU) Wokha will celebrate its golden jubilee on December 17 and 18 under the theme "Retrospect and Restructure" with Minister for Agriculture Nagaland Dr Chumben Murry as the chief guest and IPS S.P Kohima R.P Kikon as the guest of honor. The resource persons will be additional chief engineer (NST) Nrio Kikon and SDO S. Emanuel Ezung and reverend Pastor Longsa baptist church Suchamo Kikon. The union has invited all its former office bearers, officers, elders, members from each village/range/circle students union and well wishers to attend the jubilee celebration. NPYC advent Christmas DIMAPUR:Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) held a get together cum advent Christmas' celebration on December 14 at the residence of its president Kuputo Shohe at Kohima. The main focus of the programme was to rejoice the birth of Jesus and a formal cake cutting ceremony was held. Further, NPYC extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings.
