The Volunteers perform in aid of hospital patients

As Friday evening appeared on the town’s horizon, several hundred music lovers of Wokha town found their way towards local ground to be pleasantly mesmerized, in turn, by the exceptional performance of ‘The Volunteers.’ ‘The Volunteers’, a local band, which staged Friday night’s Live Aid concert in aid of patients in the hospitals of the town found an appreciative audience among both young and old as they belted out innovative versions after versions of soulful country ballads and blues to soft and heavy rock. In between beautifully received musical interludes, The Volunteers performed, among others, innovative versions of Bob Dylan’s ‘My Back Pages’, Eagles’ ‘How Long’, Mr. Big’s ‘Shine’, Firehouse’s ‘All She Wrote’, Deep Purple’s ‘Never Before’, Jeff Healy Band’s ‘Hoochie Coochie Man’, XYZ’s ‘Inside Out’, Police’s ‘Every Breathe You Take’, Los Lonely Boy’s ‘Senorita’, Van Halen’s ‘Dance the Night Away’, Skid Row’s ‘18 and Life’, Billy Ray Cyrus’ ‘Shotfull of Love’, and Crosby Stills Nash and Young’s ‘Wasted on the Way’. The Volunteers include Penthungo at vocals, Soren on bass and vocals, Rendemo on guitars and vocals, Tsenjonthung on guitars and vocals, Renbemo on drums and vocals, Yanchio on bass and vocals, Stephen on vocals, Arhomo on vocals, Lichithung on bass, and Albert on violins.
