A three-day 22nd annual session of K. Hetoi Village Students' Union commenced December 19.
Speaking on the second day session as chief guest, Co-convener, Niuland Citizens' Forum, Atoka Tuccu exhorted students to develop discipline, obedience and sincerity, which according to him were three important requirements for a student to excel in studies. Underlining the fact that many Naga youth and students have wasted their life, study career and talents by succumbing to clutches of bad habits, chief guest appealed the students to be able to comprehend what was good and bad and to choose what was good for them.
Impressed by the cultural items presented in honour of chief guest, Atoka thanked village elders and participants for the initiative in maintaining the rich tradition alive and expressed hope that such spirit would be passed on to others as well.
He donated Rs. 40,000 towards the union, Rs. 10,000 to men cultural group, Rs. 5,000 each to women cultural group and children group.
Earlier, Kakuho Yeptho, head GB, K. Hetoi village delivered the welcome address and Qhetovi, GB proposed the vote of thanks. Host of dignitaries including public leaders of Niuland area attended the inaugural session.
