State’s annual pistol and rifle shooting meet

Nagaland State Rifle Association (NSRA) is conducting the State’s Annual Pistol and Rifle Shooting meet 2008-09, starting from January 9. According to a press handout by NSRA general secretary, J.I. Yaden the events in the meet would include: .22 rifle- for senior men and women/junior boys and girls; .32 pistol/revolver (men and women); 12 bore skeet (clay pigeon) men only and .22 rifle for veteran 60 years and above. In the .22 rifle categories the event will consists of: standing, kneeling and prone, the release slated. The prizes for the events are as follows: 1st prize- Rs.5000 and gold medal, 2nd – Rs.3000 and silver medal and 3rd- Rs.2000 and bronze medal with certificate each. Registration fees for senior men/women and NSRA founder member is fixed at Rs. 300, while for junior boys and girls the fee is Rs. 220, the release said. The screening of competitors will be held on January 8, at 9 am, at NAPTC firing range, Chumukedima. In this regard the association has informed all district clubs Rifle Clubs and interested persons to submit their names to the organizing committee before January 7 to organizing committee; Kohima- K. Peseye (9436001543), Dr. N. Iralu (9436650427), Lipokyanger Longchari (9436005354) and for Dimapur- Azo Yiese (9436074028), principal PTS (03862-240428) , commandant NAPTC (03862-240621) and Aochuba Yaden (9436012866).
