As the countdown to Christmas drops, Christmas shoppers are on the rush to get the last goods of the season. The state capital is blooming out with busy shoppers from every corner as they do last minute shopping, enduring queue and traffic jams. The countdown to Christmas in the shops is being characterized by last-minute bargain hunting. As a huge crowd of shoppers pour in for goods, there is excessive rocketing of price of clothes and other products. But that has not dampened the spirit of the shoppers. At the same time, showrooms like Adidas, Hub, KAK and Gravity and the like are giving out goods on discounted rate upto 50% which has attracted a lot of customers. To the delight of customers, Kohima local ground has turned into a pool of clothes bazaar where readymade as well as second hand garments are being sold at cheap prices. Besides that, vegetables, fruits and a variety of other products are also being sold at the venue which has attracted a huge number of shoppers. Confectionaries, card and gift shops are found to be some of the busiest outlets of the season. Big business booms during this peak season as an employee in a local confectionary in Kohima town stated that the outlet sells 250-300 pieces of cakes each day. As shoppers in hordes fish for goods and products on one hand, and business blooms on the other, Kohima lies as a viable town.
