Ntu Lun meet DIMAPUR: The third general meeting of Ntu Lun village has been convened on January 30, 8 a.m. Members of the village have been informed to reach the venue on January 29. SDO (C) Suruhoto inauguration DIMAPUR: The SDO (C) headquarter Suruhoto would be inaugurated on January 28, 11 a.m with state chief minister Neiphiu Rio as chief guest. DC Zunheboto C.M Tsanglao has informed all head of department, officers of Zunheboto district to reach the venue by 10 a.m. Clarification Refuting to the news item that appeared on a local daily under the caption 'ACC 1 Dmu-1 Dissolves ward no 22 unit', president of AYC 1 Dimapur 1 A/C Aron K. Awomi has clarified that the four resigned members under youth division namely Ikato Achumi AYC, Vikali AYC, Lovitoli AYC and Vishiho AYC were not enrolled as members in the AYC-1 Dimapur. Khaghaboto GB Hoho new team DIMAPUR: The Khaghaboto Area GB's Hoho elected has new team of office bearers for the tenure of 2009-11. The new team would be lead by head GB, Akito village- Jacob Zhimomi as president, GB Sahoi village -Qhehoi Sumi as vice president, head GB Ghonivi village- G. Vikato sumi as general secretary, GB Shitovi village- Khevito Chishi as joint sectrtary, GB Zukihe village- Nitoi Sumi as treasures and GB Khaghaboto village- Yetokhu as union banker. Security tightened in Nagaland for R-day KOHIMA: All arrangements were put in place for successful celebration of nations 60th Republic Day tomorrow in Nagaland with police and paramilitary forces stepping up vigils across the state. This time Nagaland will showcase the achievements made in socio-economic fronts with the main function being organized at civil secretariat ground here where state governor K Sankaranarayanan will hoist the tricolour and take salutes of Republic Day parade. Although no organization in the state has called for boycott of the celebration, vigils have been intensified in border areas with Assam following general strike call by ULFA and other militant groups in the region. GB informs on donation DIMAPUR: Any person or group collecting donation for Indian Idol contestant, Remo Ghosh of Xuvihe colony has been informed to intimate the GB of Xuvihe colony Dimapur, Vitoi Zhimomi. The public have also been informed not to entertain any form of donation without the approval letter from the GB of Xuvihe colony. The public of the colony in a press release issued through its GB expressed gratitude to all the well wishers who voted for Ghosh and expected more support from all over Nagaland and India. Wishes for PM DIMAPUR: Leader of opposition, Chingwang Konyak has wished a "Godspeed recovery" for prime minister, Dr Manmohan Singh who underwent a successful coronary by-pass surgery Saturday at the AIIMS Delhi. Konyak in a press release also congratulated the Doctors and their team who preformed the operation. He called upon every Indian citizen and the world at large to pray for speedy recovery of the prime minister to enable him to discharge his responsibilities. SSU condoles DIMAPUR: Satami Students Union has mourned the demise of Xüito Phuleshe Head G.B. of Satami Village who passed away on January 23 at Satami village. Union in a condolence message by general secretary Hushika G. Chishi stated that during his 52 years of services as GB of Satami village late Xüito brought many changes in custom and religion aspect. Union also stated that late Xüito's demise has posed a great loss to Satami village. SSU has expressed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. DC Kma appeals DIMAPUR: In view of the Republic Day celebration, the Deputy Commissioner Kohima has requested for closure of all shops in Kohima town from 8 a.m to 12 noon so as to facilitate the public to witness the celebration at Secretariat Plaza. Sessions, meet held DIMAPUR: The 35th general session of Merapani Students' Union (MSU) was held on January 16 with ADC, Bhandari, Ahola, as chief guest.Expressing its gratitude to the village chairman, GBs, elders, well wishers and students for their presence at the session, the union in a press release issued by its president, Abel Kikon, also stated a team of new office bearers were elected for the tenure 2009-11 with Abel Kikon as president and Orenthung as general secretary. LVSU: General meeting of Lotsu Village Student Union (LVSU) was held on January 23 at the residence of Ntsemo Ovung, Oriental Colony, Dimapur, to deliberate on issues relating to its golden jubilee celebration. The student union in a press release has also extended gratitude to elders, former executives, well wishers, invitees, students and individuals for contributing the success of the meet.
