SASU conference from Jan 30 KOHIMA: Southern Angami Students' Union (SASU) would conduct its 59th session from January 30 to February 1 at Viswema village on the theme "probity of a student's life". A three-day event would be graced by NPCC president, K.V. Pusa as chief guest and KMC chairperson, Vipopal Kintso as guest of honour. Phek government college principal, Dr. Noraho Norbert Richa, 13th NAP (IR) deputy commandant, Vizhoto Hibo, and NCRC president, Rev. Dr. Neikedozo Paphino would be the speakers at the conference. SASU in a release has invited all range officers, former office bearers, students and well wishers to attend the programme. DPON greets DIMAPUR: Dimasa Public Organisation Nagaland (DPON) has extended greetings to all Dimasa people and people of the state on the occasion of "Bishu Dima." DPON in a release has prayed that Almighty God bless the people of Nagaland for peaceful and harmonious life. NPF unit meet DIMAPUR: Nagaland People's Front (NPF) 4 Ghaspani-I A/C has convened a general meeting January 29, 9 a.m. at the residence of Rajya Sabha MP. Unit president, Kughalu Aye and general secretary, Zuben Lotha in a release have requested all nine primary units' office bearers and A/C to attend the meeting. NBC jubilee DIMAPUR: Nihokhu Baptist Church (NBC) would celebrate its platinum jubilee January 29 and 30 on the theme "God's Love" with MLA and former state chief minister K.L.Chishi as chief guest for the cultural programme January 30. Executive secretary WSBAK reverend S.Vitoshe Swu and Auxiliary secretary BSI Dimapur reverend Dr. Z. K. Rochill would be the speakers for the jubilee, a release issued by NBC stated. NSUI meet KOHIMA: National Students' Union of India (NSUI) Nagaland has convened an emergency meeting of all state executives January 27, 11 a.m. at Congress Bhavan, Kohima. All state executives have been informed to attend the meeting. Bushu Dima DIMAPUR: Bishu Festival Celebration Committee (BFCC), Dimapur would celebrate Bushu Dima, a festival of Dimasa Kachari, January 27 with Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, executive member, Bhupen Hasnu as chief guest and department of land resources deputy secretary, Dhiren Difoe as guest of honour. ASUK meet DIMAPUR: Ao Students' Union Kohima (ASUK) has convened an emergency meeting January 31, 11 a.m. at union treasurer. Union vice president, Imtichujang has requested all federating unit presidents, executives and advisors to attend the meeting. NSWON grateful DIMAPUR: National Socialist Women Organization of Nagalim (NSWON) has expressed gratitude to all the Naga Civil societies particularly Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) taking effort to free its chairperson Salem and her assistant Aphy from the K-group without any harm. Secretary, NSWON in a press note prayed God would bless them as they continue to work for the common interest of the Nagas. NAPO inform members KOHIMA: Northern Angami Public Organization (NAPO) in connection with Sekrenyi celebration on February 25, has elected an organizing committee and a finance committee for the celebration. The organizing committee would be led by Neibu Sekhose as convener, Kevizalie Rio as member secretary, Zokuo Kire, Kelhousetuo Rutsa, Zakieneituo Zhale, Neisatuo Kets, Ruokuotuolie Mere, Viletuo Pienyü and Thepfuneizo Dzieyie as members. The finance committee would be led by Keduo-o Zumu as convener, and Medozeu Rio, Peter Kuotsu, Mengutuo Riio, Theyiekielie Tachü and Avituo Sekhose as members. Further, a meeting of NAPO with members of finance committee and organizing committee would be held January 29, 10 a.m. at NAPO office. All members have been informed to attend the meeting. SKK general conference from today DIMAPUR: The 44th general conference of All Sumi Students' Union (SKK) under the theme, "Re-defining education" has been scheduled to be held from January 27 to 30 at Ighanumi village. The conference is being hosted by the Sumi Aphuyemi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SAKK). Nagaland home minister, Imkong L. Imchen would grace the inaugural function as the chief guest while parliamentary secretary, Chotisuh Sazo would be the guest of honour, stated a press release issued by SKK Speaker, L. Abeto Shohe. Minister for roads and bridges, G. Kaito Aye and DMC chairperson, K. Khekaho would be the guest of honours during the valedictory function and literary session respectively. Resources persons would include Registrar, Guwahati High Court, Kohima Bench, Khesheli Chishi and Principal, Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, Aheto Zhimo. PBSSU for uninterrupted power supply DIMAPUR: Purana Bazar Sümi Students' Union (PBSSU) has conveyed its best wishes to students who would be appearing the forthcoming HSLC, HSSLC and degree examinations. PBSSU in a release has encouraged all students to give their best. The union has also appealed power department to provide regular electricity during the period of examination, so that students do not face inconveniences. Meanwhile, the union has also mourned the demise of K.Kalivi Achumi of St. Marys School, Padampukri, , who passed away January 24. WSTH condemns molestation DIMAPUR: Western Sumi Totimi Hoho (WSTH) has condemned the "molestation" of a minor girl by one Zhetokhu Yeptho of Phuye village residing at Niuland Town. The Hoho in a condemnation note jointly issued by its president, Vihuli and joint secretary, Nishela have demanded for severe punishment to the accused as per the law of the land and also warned that any person attempting to release the accused would be doing at its own risk. Further, Hoho has requested the responsible authority not to grant bail to the accused instead award him with befitting punishment.
