Along with the rest of the nation, the 60th Republic Day was celebrated at Aboi with parliamentary secretary for CAWD, T. Torechu as chief guest who unfurled National Flag and took Rashtrya Salute from four parade contingents. Football exhibition match and presentation of folk dances were some of the highlights of the grand celebration.
TULI: Republic Day was celebrated in Tuli with MLA and state planning board deputy chairman, Neiba Kronu as chief guest who unfurled the tri-colour and took salute from the march past contingents. He also delivered Republic Day speech. National anthem was presented by students of Tuli college and cultural dance and songs were presented by Tuli Watsu Unit and Merangkong SensoTelongjem Tuli.
AGHUNATO: Republic Day was celebrated at Aghunato with MLA and NSMDC chairman, Kipili Sangtam as chief guest who unfurled the nation tri-colour and delivered the Republic Day speech. The highlights of the celebration included folk song by GBs of Aghunato.
CHOZUBA: Thousands of people in and around Chozuba headquarter witnessed the formal celebration of Republic Day at Chozuba local ground with minister for road and bridges, G. Kaito Aye as chief guest. The chief guest unfurled the national flag and took Rashtriya salute from various contingents including armed forces and school children. Addressing the gathering the chief guest challenged the people to rededicate themselves to the principles of democracy and to strive to seek solution to various problems facing us today through peaceful means. Besides wrestling and exhibition football match, cultural troupes from Rüzhazho, Yoruba and Chozuba villages presented cultural dances to mark the occasion.
PUNGRO: Republic Day was observed at Pungro with SDO (C) Pungro, I. John Tselise Sangtam as chief guest who unfurled the national flag. The function was attended by all Heads of offices, GBs, public leaders and the general public.
KOBULONG: Kobulong along with the rest of the country celebrated Republic Day. The national flag was hoisted in all the government offices and institutions while the main programme was held in the district headquarter
MANGKOLEMBA: The Republic Day was celebrated at Mangkolemba with MLA and NBDA chairman, L. Temjen as chief guest who unfurled national flag and delivered speech. Highlights of the celebration included cultural extravaganza by Langpangkong union and Ongpangkong union Mangkolemba respectively. Final match of first open volleyball trophy Mangkolemba was played between Mensch club Dimapur versus Longsa sporting club.
LIONS, LEO CLUB: Lions club and Leo club Dimapur jointly celebrated Republic Day with Lions president, Sushil Paharia unfurling National Flag at club premises in presence of all the members. According to a release issued by Leo club, later the members visited Dimapur Civil Hospital, where they distributed food packets to patients and staff. The members also visited Rani Gaidinliu Kalyan Ashram at Signal Angami and Dimapur Railway Station.
