Few support 33% women reservation

Consensus eluded the consultative meet held in the conference hall of the Assembly Secretariat, to discuss on the issue of the 108th Constitution (Amendment Bill) 2008 on 33% Women Reservation Bill . The consultation meeting organized by the All Political Party Consultative Committee was attended by representatives of all political parties, recognized Tribal Hohos, Organizations, recognized Women Tribal Hohos, Associations, Naga Students Federation and Eastern Naga Students Federation. According to sources who attended Thursday’e meeting, a majority of those who shared their views during the meeting were not in favour of the reservation. “Except, Watsü Mundang (Ao Women organization) who strongly advocated for the women reservation bill, majority of the other participants were not in favour”, said a participant.
