Expressing concern over the “issues of injustice and corruption” that have drawn the Nagalnd University into a vortex of instability and insensitivity” towards its development into a “just centre of human resource development”, the Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights(NPMHR) has welcomed the reports regarding probe into the affairs of the University by the CBI. NPMHR convenor Atoho Kiho and co-convenor Kenneth, in a joint statement, have said expressed the hope that the probe would be conducted without “partiality, influence or duress” so as to get to the bottom of the alleged misuse of public office and swindling of UGC funds in the university. They have also appealed to the “responsible offices and individuals to create the ambient atmosphere for completion of the inquiry process” towards justice and equality “in the interest and benefit of our people”.
